Lawcast 152: Lord Falconer on assisted dying and the new Supreme Court of the United Kingdom
Today I am talking to Lord Falconer, a former Lord Chancellor, about two important and interesting themes – assisted dying and his amendment to the Suicide Act defeated in the Lords recently and secondly his thoughts on the reasoning behind establishing a new Supreme Court and the direct it may, in time, take. Lord Falconer became Lord Chancellor In 2003, with the remit of abolishing the office. His reform included the creation, for the first time, of a Supreme Court for the UK, the creation of a commission to appoint judges, making a full-time independent judge the Head of the Judiciary for England and Wales, and introducing an elected Speaker for the House of Lords. |

I might assist Gordo to die. Would I be allowed? Also, what is an “independent” judge? In real terms?
Sir,
Whilst you are talking to the honourable gentleman, would you be so kind as to remind him that he is a week behind in his cash payments to my colleagues in Glesga?
I wouldn’t want to have to go back to the NOTW with some rather grainy shots of his ‘BMW in shipping containers racket’ at the Tyne & Wear docks now, would I?
The movement of all these extravagant gifts to the Iranian government doesn’t fall under the umbrella of charity since the latest Labour recession fiasco was forced upon us.

Anyhoo… until Friday then.
cheerio

Amateur stuff Mr Bastard. I have our hero in fishnight tights and suspenders ‘whacking the donkey’ (whatvber that may involve) with a vertically challenged redhead of mature years (don’t tell R Knee – he’ll get insanely jealous)
And it’s in high definition too…
Every pore like a volcanic crater…
whatever that was…
My dear Rabbit,
Who am I to stand in your way? Sleep well in your bed tonight dear fellow, who knows.. maybe that creak on the stair in the wee small hours really is just the wind.
Room 31 … Premier Travel Inn… Guthrie St … Stoke-on-Trent.
Sound familar at all?
cheerio old chap,
JB

I leave that sort of thing to Forkbender or whatever his name is…
