“In this latest Marvel inspired piece from Charon’s ‘Superhero Period’ Charon achieves his ultimate ambition – transmogrification into a bottle of Rioja and superhero to boot. The detail in building a cork into the headgear of the figure can only be marvelled at… not in terms of the brushwork or skill, for there is little of the latter in evidence – but marvel in the sense of….at what goes on inside Charon’s head.
Much of this painting was, in fact, painted while flying on a rather good bottle of … you guessed it… RIOJA…available at Oddbins and all good wine merchants £9.99″

Good to see the holiday is resulting in an extended period of creativity, Charon! Don’t you ever just veg in front of the TV?
Maybe Rioja wasn’t your only inspiration – possibly subconsciously………the head gear appears to bear more than a passing similarity to @SteveShark………….

Thanks Pam – enjoyed the post about ashtrays… I smoke – my life….but fairly relaxed about ban in restaurants if that is what most people want…
I don’t, however, tolerate the anti-smoking, anti-drinking, anti-sex, anti-farting about brigade telling me how to run my life in my private space.
I think most people feel that way? Yes?
I take the view that, as long as it doesn’t harm anyone else, I can do what I like. I enjoy a glass of malt, I enjoy a cigarette – the nanny state would have you believe it makes me a bad person. Hey, ho.
The restaurant/pub ban doesn’t bother me, I’ve spent a lot a of time in the States, so was used to it. Away from shared environments, live and let live. The blog on the silent removal of car ashtrays says it all, really…………
