I had to uncork the hip flask after discovering the new BPP ‘Lion’ logo this afternoon. I was running BPP Law School when BPP Holdings PLC Chairman Richard Price revealed the last logo. I thought the last logo
was a bit dull – but this new one is, to my eye, simply astonishing… as is the reputed £300,000 price tag.
I shall spend the afternoon on clipart sites, knock a few logos together…and see if I can flawg them orf to The College of Law and other providers. I suspect I shall be given the ‘V’ if I do ring the other providers.
RollonFriday.com – as ever – are on the case, with an amusing ‘assessment’.
The students at BPP have given their verdict on BPP Law School’s Facebook page…
I particularly liked this comment…
“Emily Gardner What a waste of £300,000. It’s almost as bad as the new tagline “Where legal eagles come to hatch”.”
I have no idea what the marketing department is smoking…. but if they would be kind enough to let me know where I can get some… be sure, I shall do so.

It looks rather like the hallmark from the London assay office pressed into another
service
BPP are very good at spending other people’s money. BPTC students get given one copy of Archbold 2011 on arrival, followed a month later by the new 2012 edition. Plus a ton of copies in the library. Plus the online edition. That’s at least £500 per student in the shredder. Oh well- they have to justify the fees somehow.
having read the comments on facebook, they seem to say rather more for the calibre of student at bpp than a sad old lion. (it has probably just had to fork out its fees) they strike me as intelligent and succinct.
and surely the only animal worthy of being the bpp masthead is the manly dachshund, king of hounds!
Step one: find a tutorial on the internet that explains how to create a lion logo using Illustrator:

Step two: tweak it till the client’s happy.
Step three: PROFIT!

Ha Ha Ha. Things like this make my day. How glorious amongst all this doom and gloom.
What else do you expect from a corner shop of an educational for profit uni? From what I gather as a former BPP student, management competency is lacking and mixed up grades and failures the norm. The aggressive marketing campaign of its courses to overseas students is just to lure them in and take their fees. There is no value for money save the teachers there ( if they do not resign/get scaked halfway through the course, a frequent practice). This is a “sausage factory” at best, no compassion to students yet adept at a ping pong game of aggressive PR sugar coating.
