I should explain, for people who do not hang on prime minister David Cameron’s every word, that PMDirect told us all, on the happy day for Prince William and Kate Middleton…. that he slept on The Mall on the eve of the marriage of Prince Charles and Diana – he was 15, apparently.
As I get older… I find that nothing surprises me.
I found this on Google… 🙂
Prince William to marry Kate Middleton – Home News, UK – The …
16 Nov 2010 … Nauseating to hear Cameron gushing outside No.10 : “A great day for our country” and “Banging on tables” and “Sleeping on the Mall“. …

Heheheh.
I wish the happy couple the very best but (he wrote without much hope) a modest amount of subsequent coverage – as opposed to a tidal wave of drooling and drivelling sufficient to drown the yeti somewhere a long way up the Himalayas would be nice.
Roll on the Republic.
I wish them every happiness, no tragedies as I never, ever again want to see the country reduced to the infantile and weepy state which it descended into after the death of the Princess of Wales. At least the state of the country as presented by a co-operative and supine British media lead by a manipulative prime minister. That really did make me consider leaving the country for a Pacific island rather than our own tumultuous one.
Unfortunately Cameron is already giving every hint he is made of the same sort of stuff. Do these guys have to turn everything into a personal story in order to milk it for all its worth?
I also fear the possibility of Martin Bashir re-appearing on British TV. He’s already put a fleeting visit into Newsnight.
so cameron was always a tosser…
so some overprivileged inbred is marrying an overprivileged female better-looking than himself. and this stuff will be on tv?
meh. same old same old.
However one may wish things to be there is one certainty. Media coverage of the wedding will be MASSIVE and not just the day itself but the build up. Also, the British public will turn out in droves to watch it all. Money will be no object apart from maybe a few token gestures toward the “economic times” in which we live.
obiter you old lefty – give the young oligarchs their vastly expensive overhyped day in the sun!
we can shoot them later.
I think I see a potential Section 127 menacing message there.
Does the martyrdom of Paul Cambers not act as a deterrent to these people?
I wish them all the best and a happy life, and all the best to you my dear Charon.
Pity your regular (cynical) bloggers!
you see, a royal wedding makes everything better. just one day on and i have been upgraded to one of ‘these people’! huzzah!
and re wishing them well for their marriage. i really can’t honestly claim to have any feelings one way or the other about wanting 2 people i don’t know to have either a happy or a sad marriage – apart from a general wishing the world in general good not ill. more to the point perhaps, as i lacked divine powers last time i checked, i’m uncertain what impact my feelings will have on the chances of that happening. i’m guessing not a lot.
i’m not unhappy to be thought a cynic, but i’m not sure my utter lack of interest qualifies me for that description.
and as i am a big-hearted chap i wish them well… and that nice couple in stranraer, and south shields and coleraine and milton keynes……………….. isn’t being nice tiring?
